Chapter History

You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every chapter of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today. Read more about our chapters’ histories in Kappa's digital archives.

I LOVE YOU TRULY, KKG

There are approximately 140 Kappa Kappa Gamma chapters throughout the United States and Canada, with over 250,000 members. Our chapter at Michigan State University is the Delta Gamma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. We were founded on Michigan State's campus on November 7, 1930 (84 years ago).

Every Fall, Delta Gamma welcomes a new member pledge class of around 50 girls. Throughout the new member and initiation experience, the girls become part of more than just a sorority. Along with lifelong friendships, Kappas will have the chance to participate in philanthropic events like The Very Hungry Kappapillar, Sigma Chi Derby Days and Rely for Life, which raise thousands of dollars for charity. Kappas also will have the ability to explore their leadership abilities through taking on Chapter Council positions or participating in events like Order of Omega.

After four wonderful years as a Kappa Kappa Gamma at Michigan State University, the experience doesn't end. Our house is always open to Kappas of the past, stopping by to say hello and reminisce on their wonderful days as a MSU Kappa.
