Letter from the President
Hi and welcome to kappa’s website! My name is Emma Smith and I am our chapter’s president. Here you can explore and see everything that kappa has to offer at Michigan State. If it wasn’t for joining kappa, I can genuinely say my experience here at MSU would not be half of what it is today. I’m so excited to share a little bit more of our chapter with you and for you to get to some of the most lovely, intelligent, and classy women that I get the pleasure to call my sisters. Though college only lasts for four years, being a kappa and the unbreakable bonds that our sisterhood provides will last a lifetime.
Growing up with two brothers definitely has its perks(like forever being the special, only daughter), but no doubt have I always wanted to have a sister that I could share clothes with, gossip with, and confide in, and that is exactly what kappa has provided me ever since I opened my bid card my freshman year. Prior to coming to Michigan State, I wasn’t even sure if I was going to rush. I never wanted the typical stereotype of a “sorority girl” to alter people’s opinions about me. I am so happy that I went through with it and didn’t let those false stereotypes persuade me not to because if it weren’t for choosing kappa, I would lack all of the better qualities that make me the person I am today. Kappa has given me a place to call my home away from home- something that is especially hard to find in a campus full of 50,000 students and that i’m eternally grateful for.
I encourage all of you to explore our site and see everything the Delta Gamma chapter has to offer. Whether it’s our annual Kappapillar pie eating contest or volunteering with the Boys & Girls club, Kappa greatly values giving back to our community. We hope that you can at least get a sense of how much this chapter means to each and every one of us and can see why going kappa was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Enjoy!
